Today we left the ship. We signed up for an excursion that took from the west coast of Costa Rica to San Jose where we were going to spend the night before taking our flight home the following morning. On the way to the hotel we stopped at the Espiritu Santo Coffee Plantation. Not only did we pick some coffee beans, but the guide showed us how to make the perfect cup of coffee.
Our next stop was to the largest oxcart factory in Costa Rica, located in Sarchi. The tradition of the oxcarts is linked to the coffee production and the harvest in the early years of the country. Now they are produced for local festivals and parades. At this factory you can also find arts and crafts produced by local artisans. All of the items at this factory were absolutely beautiful.
After having lunch in the Oxcart factory, we headed on to our final destination, the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen. This is a stunning hotel that is only 15 minutes to the San Jose airport. They upgraded us to a suite upon arrival so our last night was spent in luxury.
